Animation Digital Network has released artwork featuring the main characters from the animated series set in the roguelike universe of Dead Cells. Additionally, the creators of the series have announced the debut of the first trailer.
This animated series will follow the storyline of a “roguelike” metroidvania, depicting the journey of the Headless as he ventures to a mysterious island to overthrow a deranged king. In this adaptation, the protagonist is joined by a red-haired girl. Together, they must overcome the king’s minions and gain the support of the island’s inhabitants to reach the ruler.
On the cursed island, a plague and a deranged king wreak havoc, transforming the inhabitants into monsters. In accordance with the prophecy, a hero with flaming hair emerges. Yet, he shows no interest in the island’s troubles; his sole desire is tranquility.
The Parisian studio Bobbypills, known for producing several animated videos for the original game, is in charge of the show’s production.

Dead Cells | Immortalis is set to feature ten episodes, each with a duration of approximately seven minutes. It remains uncertain if there will be voice acting in languages other than French, as indicated in the trailer.
The animated series is scheduled for a two-part release, with the initial five episodes premiering on June 19 and the concluding five episodes on June 26. The production is monitored by the developers from Motion Twin.
