Ubisoft is deeply invested in NFTs and related technologies, with several top managers overseeing different aspects such as blockchain and Web3.
Despite setbacks like the Quartz platform’s failure, employee criticism, and partner concerns, Ubisoft remains committed to integrating NFTs into gaming. Their latest endeavor involves the role-playing strategy game Champions Tactics, which will incorporate 9,999 NFT figures of military leaders, enhancing player profiles and unlocking unique characters.
The implementation technology is supplied by Double Jump Tokyo, utilizing the Oasys blockchain, and they will also handle the game’s promotion in Asia. While the figures are free, costs associated with minting, gas, and related expenses are the responsibility of the collector.
The future success of this initiative is uncertain, especially as current promotional efforts by Double Jump Tokyo include bot-driven comment campaigns under game trailers.
