Following their participation in the Summer Game Fest 2024 exhibition, the emerging Chinese studio S-GAME addressed several player concerns. The developers showcased the most recent version of their action game, Phantom Blade Zero, at the event.
The game’s trailer features actual gameplay recordings without any extra staging or combat embellishments. It appears that the project is nearing its final production phase, yet the authoring team still faces numerous technical tasks to complete.

S-GAME has reported receiving considerable positive feedback from the press during a private game demonstration. Concurrently, journalists provided constructive criticism to enhance the game’s excitement. The developers emphasized their independent work on the game, clarifying that Phantom Blade Zero is not a PlayStation exclusive. It is being developed for both PC and PS5, platforms chosen for their convenience and substantial player base.
Contrary to common perception, Phantom Blade Zero is not merely another Soulslike game, according to the developers. While S-GAME acknowledges the inspiration from the renowned hardcore series, they assure that Phantom Blade Zero will not be purposefully challenging. The game will offer various difficulty levels, and enemies will not reappear after the player’s death or upon reloading a save.
The team is currently focusing on preparing a demo version of Phantom Blade Zero for attendees of upcoming exhibitions. Concurrently, they are developing a digital version of the demo, set to launch nearer to the game’s release date.
