A YouTube enthusiast known as skurtyyskirts took on the task of enhancing the graphics of the iconic shooters Half-Life 2 | Episode One and Half-Life 2 | Episode Two using RTX Remix, NVIDIA’s official toolkit. The outcomes of this endeavor were showcased in gameplay videos.
The videos display early RTX mod versions — the creator didn’t spend time on refinements. It remains unclear if the modder intends to polish the remasters for network release.
The author’s YouTube channel also features remastered videos of Hitman 2 | Silent Assassin, Tomb Raider | Legend, Star Wars | Battlefront 2 (2005), Call of Duty 4 | Modern Warfare, among others.
It’s worth noting that Half-Life 2 is undergoing a comprehensive remaster using RTX Remix technology. The remaster will receive new assets, ray tracing, and improved lighting. It is not yet known when the game will be released.
However, this project is being developed by a professional NVIDIA-formed team, not by an individual enthusiast. Recently, new images of the project surfaced online.
Nikita Polukarov showed a model of Charple, a dead man with a charred body. Edward Bardin demonstrated an updated model of the car. Earlier, artist Cassio Soares showed the Gravity Cannon and the MP7 SMG.
