The latest version of the PvPvE shooter Hunt | Showdown hasn’t been officially released yet, but the gaming community has discovered many gameplay details. The game will feature increased violence, with Crytek developers leveraging technical advancements to enhance the experience – the ESRB website describes scenes of decapitation, dismemberment, and bloodshed.
Bloodshed is not without purpose – players will be equipped with the most savage weapons, including baseball bats with blades and glass shards, spiked brass knuckles, and jagged clubs that can crush an opponent’s head like a pumpkin. Sharp weapons will be designed for dismemberment, while blunt weapons will inflict limb damage. Additionally, players will have access to a stylish Victorian-era revolver.
The core concept of Hunt | Showdown 1896 remains unchanged, with players continuing to hunt zombified creatures and their tribesmen. The update includes descriptions of monsters that explode, releasing poisonous innards, and some that don cloaks crafted from human skin. Additionally, the update will overhaul all fundamental mechanics and thoroughly revamp the existing game modes.
Hunt | Showdown 1896 is anticipated to launch on August 15, 2024, likely building upon the foundation of the original game on Steam.
