We’ve weighed the pros and cons of this game. Perhaps we should delve into the most debated aspect of the game—the quests. They are often criticized for their lack of choice, sarcastic tone, and minimal variability.
Most of the quests in Fallout 4 can be skipped if you don’t talk to a certain NPC or skip the location. We will list only a couple of quests that have variability depending on your choice.
In Henry Cooke’s quest, you don’t have to persuade Cooke to leave Darcy behind, but make a deal with him, as a result of your choice, if Cooke is the first to go, he will perish, and you will obtain all the goods, leading to an alternate dialogue with Darcy’s husband. Consequently, Darcy’s behavior in Diamond City will be entirely different.
After Killing the Dealer’s Son, his father will approach you, giving you the opportunity to contest your murder accusation using Charisma. You can shift the blame onto Marowski and even persuade him to pay more for the crime.
In the Goodneighbor mission, if you choose to rob the warehouse, you side with the customer. This action results in the redhead’s death and the merchant harboring negative karma towards you. Successful recruitment of associates will be affected, and during dialogues about relationship conversations, you will be reminded of the redhead’s murder.
At Drumlin Diner, siding with the dealers prevents you from bargaining in certain places; however, you will encounter these dealers again in Goodneighbor, where they will recognize you.
In the Cabot House quest, you are presented with the choice to either kill the father or spare him and instead kill the son. The reward you receive will also vary depending on your level of belief.
In random mini-events featuring Raiders and Gunsmiths, you have the option to either give them money or confront them. Additionally, there’s a mini-quest where a synth is determined to target an individual they have replicated.
In the Mole Rat Den mission, you have the option to withhold the vault 81 serum and reserve it for personal use. However, this choice may lead to restricted access to specific areas and facilities, and it is probable that you will encounter disapproval from others.
In Cabot House, serums are available – it’s possible to retain them and falsely claim they were not discovered.
At the USS Constitution, there is an option to negotiate with the Ironsides after eliminating the crew members and subsequently receiving a reward from them.
This represents just a fraction of the quests that offer choices, not to mention the plot’s variability and the impact of your allegiance. The claim that there is no variability in the dialogue is false.
Graphics – While some criticize the graphics, we find that even the Vanilla version looks impressive on a 4k monitor. Moreover, installing texture packs is an option available even for console versions. With some adjustments, the graphics can reach a high standard not seen in many modern games.

How your choices affect interaction with the world
Consider the quest in Diamond City where you can choose to paint a wall blue. Doing so will result in the city’s residents joking and speaking negatively about you.
In the shelter with mole rats, after you save a child, you can claim part of the shelter’s property. This leads to a positive perception from the people, who will speak differently about you.
Choosing the Minuteman faction to save settlements, then demanding rations from the Brotherhood of Steel, will render some quests in the new settlements inaccessible.
This is merely a glimpse of the game’s depth. With the Far Harbor DLC, the variations are extensive.
In terms of combat, the game has significantly advanced beyond Fallout 3. The shooting mechanics are satisfying, and weapons pack a punch, especially when bolstered by a high Strength stat and Power Armor. Using a heavy sledgehammer to strike a Super Mutant Behemoth, for instance, results in visible pain animations. Similarly, attacking smaller foes like Ghouls or Mirelurks can knock them off balance or even to the ground.
The game features a system of resistances and vulnerabilities; targeting the arms or legs of synths inflicts greater damage. Moreover, the game features a limb damage system that offers strategic advantages, like the ability to disable an Assaultron’s legs to stop it from charging at you.
We still fail to grasp the outrage concerning the principal storylines:
In Fallout 1, you’re searching for a functional water filter kit.
Fallout 2 has you looking for a GEC.
Fallout 3 involves searching for your Father.
Fallout New Vegas is about finding out who buried you.
Fallout 4 centers on the search for your Son. For some reason, the quest to find the son stands out. Yet, before and even after locating him, there are numerous engaging quests and their variations.
Regardless of opinions about Todd, the Fallout series remains memorable and continues to evolve because of him. This game stands as one of the finest open-world creations. Best of luck to everyone.
