“The Invincible” is a game that offers a combat-free adventure set in space, featuring exploration, a mysterious threat, and an amnesiac protagonist. The narrative is adapted from Stanislaw Lem’s 1964 sci-fi novel and involves the protagonist, Dr. Yasna, piecing together her memory on the planet Regis III. The game has been noted for its effective use of amnesia in storytelling, providing context through non-linear memory recovery. Despite some criticisms regarding context provision and motion sickness issues, it has been praised for its immersive environments and thought-provoking themes related to humanity’s purpose in space and scientific hubris.
The narrative begins with the planet Regis III, where all the central events of the game and story take place. Due to an error by the ship’s commander, Novik, the crew finds themselves stranded on Regis III.
The name ‘Regis,’ a variant of ‘Rex,’ translates to ‘king’ in Latin. This seems to have a significant connection to the story. The title ‘Invincible’ in the game is associated exclusively with two elements | a spaceship and advanced microbots, colloquially termed ‘flies.’

The game features three main characters and four secondary characters who only play a passive role in the story. The leading trio includes Yasna, an astrobiologist; Novik, the ship’s captain and astrogator, affiliated with the Rohitra Commonwealth; and the active characters who strive to protect themselves and their disabled crewmates from the deadly threat of the Flies (microbots). They employ various methods, including scientific instruments like Dirac particle accelerators—Antimat and Cyclops—and nuclear weapons. However, these prove ineffective against the microbots, which only become more aggressive. It is then that Yasna declares them to be invincible.
The narrative of Invincible offers a unique perspective on Ridley Scott’s Alien cinematic universe, reminiscent of the Soviet era, without being a mere imitation. As it is commonly understood, anything alien to us lies beyond the confines of our world.
An analogy can be drawn with AI entities like Skynet or Ultron, which constantly strive to dominate. Physically, flies represent imperfection, while conceptually and logically, they signify perfection. Floaters could be seen as a physical manifestation of the collective unconscious. However, the focus is not on the image itself, but on the underlying meaning. Similarly, the name ‘the invincible’ is also attributed to the commonwealth’s ship, as it serves as a direct allegory for the unconscious, reminiscent of the analysis in the film “The Last Journey | Demeter.”
Indeed, emptiness cannot be conquered. However, the question arises as to why the term is masculine and what relevance a king holds in this context. We refer to the bygone sovereign.
Further evidence supporting the “Flies” theory is their reliance on solar energy, their primary power source. Yet, they also exploit the cerebral matter of sentient beings. For instance, those who have encountered microbots subsequently experienced neurological issues | amnesia, somnambulism, or even total cessation of cerebral functions. Flies are attuned to electromagnetic activities and can consume it as nourishment, leading to the vegetative state of many affected individuals.

Similarly, the collective unconscious operates. In the absence of a universal consciousness that imparts energy, it enters a state of stasis, tantamount to death.
Flies may also represent the amalgamation of animate and inanimate matter.
